Service Description

SLA- Stereolithography
Parts created by this method are accurate; are great for fit and assembly checks. They require minimal post processing and are ideal for masters for Vacuum casting.

SLS-Selective Laser Sintering
Very fine particles of Nylon powder are laser sintered (melted) together to form very durable, impact resistant and functioning part. Glass is also used to give additional streng4h to an already impressive product. This is the premium product for performance and durability.

FDM- Fused Deposition Modelling
Polycarbonate and ABS plastic blended together are used to create functional parts of any geometry. This process is useful for electrical housings and semi-functional testing where some snap fit is required.

3D Printing
As the name suggests this is a 3 dimensional printing process. Fine powder is solidified with a special type of glue applied from an ink jet print head. Full colour and rugged parts are the specialty application. We have created full colour terrain models with this process several metres long. For prototypes this is a cost effective way to verify a part design.

Wax Printing
Just like 3D Printing, wax is used to build up a part. The typical application is investment casting. The wax pattern is coated with ceramic and fired to burn out the wax before metal is poured into the shell. The result is a cast metal part of any material without the need for expensive tooling.

Investment Casting
A wax pattern is created and coated in ceramic. The wax is burnt out as the ceramic is fired. As above metal is poured into the mould to form the parts.

Vacuum Casting/Silicon Tooling
is an economical method of producing multiple copies of your design when low volumes (around 20 copies) are required. An SLA pattern is produced and Silicon is mixed and poured under vacuum around the pattern to produce a mould. Many different types of polyurethane can be mixed and poured under vacuum into the silicon mould to produce parts to meet your requirements.

Polyurethane Moulding
For higher volumes of parts, polyurethane moulding is used. Patterns can be used from a variety of processes and a urethane mould is cast around the master pattern. Moulds can last as any as 5000 shots. For extremely thick wall sections this is also the perfect process as there are no sink marks as there would be in injection moulding. Materials range from Shore 25A-Shore 95D. Parts from 10 grams to 30KG.

CNC Machining
2 x CNC machining centres with 24 tool change for all applications

Laser Scanning
3D Laser scanning allows for reverse engineering. Ideal for capturing digital data from an existing part. This can be converted to give a 3Dcad file.

3D Cad design
If you have a 2D drawing and want to have a part manufactured then the bridge is the 3D Cad design. We can recreate the file in a 3D format to allow for digital manufacturing.
