Printing with FDM printers

When it comes to Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printers, due to the way the printer lays out the filament, limitations arise as to how precise and smooth the model can be. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/ult_animation_block][ult_animation_block animation=”fadeIn” animation_duration=”3″ animation_delay=”0″ animation_iteration_count=”1″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none”]However, the details in the models can be enhanced by adjusting the settings in which the model is printed at. This can be achieved by decreasing the layer resolution or layer height to a smaller micron e.g going from 250 microns to 200 microns. As an FDM 3D printer the typical range of resolutions achievable lies between 300 – 150 microns, however, the UP Box is no typical FDM printer, our team was able to achieve all the way down to 50 microns! How is this possible!!! How can your average consumer 3D Printer reach a resolution of 5/100 of a mm ?[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”10989″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none”]Well the UP Box is no average 3D printer, previously this printer was able to achieve prints of up to 100 microns but now with the development of the finer 0.2mm nozzle, the UP Box is now capable of printing at 50 microns!

The bed required a fair bit of leveling before we were able to achieve good adhesion. However, with this feedback, the manufacturer has engineered a specially designed platform that allows for fewer calibrations and more printing!
